A 2017 mid-term report gives an insight to the general public on how the EUR 8million EU GCCA+ project is helping Chad develop a climate-resilient, low-carbon economy. Achievements so far include the calculation of the national power grid’s carbon dioxide emissions factors, development of plans to deploy renewable energy in a dozen regions, and the setting up of a climate change database linked to a mobile app. The report also outlines four pilot field projects targeting agricultural diversification, soil degradation, resource management and climate change education.
